AEGIS has its roots in passenger rolling stock. When the company was formed in 1997, our engineers worked almost exclusively on passenger rolling stock projects. AEGIS has extensive engineering experience in all aspects of passenger rolling stock; both new build and legacy fleets, high speed and commuter services, overground and underground, in the UK and across the world.
AEGIS has a team of traction and rolling stock engineers with many years of experience in engineering, operations and safety associated with passenger rolling stock. AEGIS can also call upon specialists where required to supplement its core team.
AEGIS can undertake complete turnkey projects from first principles or can be integrated as part of a wider project team. Our engineers have the knowledge and capability to specify and design complete new trains through to minor modifications to existing fleets. We work for many new builders as an integral part of their project teams. We also undertake a significant amount of work on existing fleets. This work might include amongst other things reliability and safety investigations / reviews, modifications and upgrades, feasibility studies, maintenance reviews, project management, assurance support, structural assessments. We can manage your projects through the whole lifecycle including the approvals process.
